視覚だけやなく聴覚からも、楽しんで欲しい。― 豆純　すがお～22人の舞ことば～ ＃5

̶̶ 舞妓さんになった理由を教えてください。

うちが小学生の時、春の京都へ旅行に行ったんどす。 その時、たまたま歌舞練場の前を通った時に都をどりをやってることを知って、観によしてもうたんどす。 小学生やったし、最初は嫌々入ったんどすけど、いざ観たらはまってしもて。 その時に「この道に入って、この舞台に上がりたい」と思ったんどす。

̶̶ 京都の街で好きな場所はありますか？

生まれは東京なんどすけど、祇園からあまり出ることがなくて……。 せやから、祇園の街並みが好きどすね。

̶̶ 豆純さんがほっと一息ついて、「すがお」でいられるのはどんな時ですか？

やっぱり、お休みの日どすね。 よく図書館に行きます。 置屋にいる間は携帯電話も持たれへんので、本や雑誌が楽しみの一つなんどす。 好きなのは、政治や社会に関する本。 ちっちゃい時から歴史や政治とかが好きやったんです。 それに、お客さんが話してはるのを聞くと興味が湧いてきて。 頑張って読んでみるんどすけど、やっぱりちょっと分からしまへん。 せやから、辞書を片手に読んでます。

̶̶ 都をどりに対する意気込みを教えてください。

都をどりに出るのは、今年で三回目なんどす。 初年度は、憧れの舞台に出れてすごい嬉しかったんどす。 それでも、二年目、三年目と慣れてきましたね。せやけど、これを観てうちみたいにこの道に入ってくれる子もいると思うので、毎回心を入れ替えて、初心を忘れずにお舞台を務めたいと思います。

̶̶ 春秋座での都をどりも二回目ですね。 見所はありますか？

うちは、今年初めてお囃子に当たるんどす。 春秋座は音がすごい良く響く、いいお舞台。 お囃子の音も跳ね返りがとても綺麗に聞こえるんどす。 視覚だけやなくて聴覚からも、楽しんでいただきたいな、と思います。

̶̶ 今後、どんな舞妓さんになっていきたいですか？

うちは舞を見て憧れたので、「舞の上手な芸妓さんやな」って言われるようになりたいどす。 初めの頃は動作や間のひとつひとつを覚えるのも大変でした。 せやけど、やっぱり慣れどすかね。 なんか分からしまへんけど、最近はすぅーっと動けるようになってきました。 お稽古も、やっぱり舞が一番好きどす。

> Please tell us the reason why you would have liked to be “MAIKO”.

We went to Kyoto for a family-trip in spring when I was in elementary school. We happened to notice to hold “MIYAKO-ODORI” at KABURENJO Theater in KYOTO. Since I was only an elementary student, I was not so excited to go watch it. But after watching the performance, I became to like “MIYAKO-ODORI” so much that I thought I would have liked to be MAIKO who performed on stages.

> Do you have any favorite places in Kyoto?

I am originally from Tokyo, and actually I do not go out except GION area so much. I like the landscape there.

> What do you do in your free time?

I often go to the library. It is my favori te t ime to read books or magazines at OKIYA (MAIKO’s dwelling) because I am not allowed to use my mobile phone there. I like books especially about society and politics which I have been interested in since I was a child. Also my guests sometimes talk about society and politics, and that made me more interested in them. Those books are difficult to understand, so I always read them with a dictionary.

> Please tell us your enthusiasm for “MIYAKO-ODORI”

It is my third times to perform it. At the first time, I was really happy to perform on the stage of MIYAKO-ODORI. Although I become familiar with performing on this stage, I always keep in mind to perform with my beginner’s spirit. Our stage might attract some young girls and they might want to be MAIKO in the future as I once did.

 
> It is the second time to hold MIYAKO-ODORI at the SHUNJUZA Theater. Which part of this MIYAKO-ODORI is the most exciting?

It is my first time to perform OHAYASHI (traditional music) at MIYAKOODORI. With beautiful sounds and good echoes, SHUNJUZA is a very nice theater. I would like the audience to enjoy not only watching our MAI dance but also listening to the music.

> How do you want to be as “MAIKO”?

I would like to be a GEIKO who perform MAI dance well, as I am attracted to MAI and get to adore it. At first it was very hard to memorize the choreographies, but now I become familiar with them and I get to dance more smoothly. I like MAI dance lessons.
